Our Walk
If you have walked the track behind our church you’ve probably noticed the signs. Each has a scripture, and each tells a story so that someone walking would read and understand what it means to ‘walk’ with Jesus.
John 8:12 ‘Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’
You trust Christ and follow Him – you surrender, He adopts you. You are no longer an enemy, but a friend, and a child of His.
Ephesians 2:8-10 ‘For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.’
Good Works do not produce Salvation – Good Works result from Salvation. He saves us to show Himself in our lives through our works. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Romans 8:1 ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.’
What does it mean to not be condemned? It means you’re free from guilt, fear, worry. It means that you’ve been forgiven of all your sin; past, present, and future.
Micah 6:8 ‘He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?’
We don’t walk with Him to maintain our standing, it’s secure. We walk with Him to maintain our Fellowship.
Isaiah 40:31 ‘But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’
This life is a journey, a course, a race that we all must run. Those who know Jesus will always have Him walking with them.
Come walk with us as we walk with Him at Russellville Baptist.
