Associate Pastor: Minister of Music & Media
Russell has served in Music Ministry since 1988, including churches in Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, and Louisiana. A native of Huntingdon, Tennessee and raised in Dexter, Missouri, he is a 1989 graduate of Union University in Jackson, TN with a Bachelor of Music (Voice Concentration), and a 1997 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Education (worship concentration).
Russell is also a certified Disaster Relief Chaplain with both the Louisiana Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board. He has also received additional Disaster Relief training in Food Services and Disaster Assessment. Russell has had multiple opportunities to minister through Disaster Relief over the last several years.
Russell and his wife, Tammy, were married in 1989 and have four fantastic kids, Matthew, Chandler, Hannah Beth, and Emily.
Russell enjoys deer hunting, spending time with his family, reading a good book, and firing up the grill or the smoker for a crowd (his specialty is smoked Boston Butts...YUM!). He is also an avid fan of college football and his overriding obsession is rooting for his beloved University of Tennessee Volunteers.
